It also features great longboarding conditions and ample shade.

If you're traveling to Jensen Beach for the first time, it's important to find a spot near the town's airport. For an afternoon of fishing, Jensen Beach offers plenty of opportunities to catch fish. A local shop, Kirk's Dive & Surf, offers group dives. Another beach that offers waves is Avalon Beach. This stretch of sandbar has waves for beginner surfers. You'll find showers and bathrooms at Dollman Park.

If you're looking for a more consistent surf break, Fort Pierce Inlet State Park is the perfect place. The surf at Fort Pierce Inlet is some of the most consistent on Florida's east coast. The best time to surf here is when the tide is about half-in or higher. In addition, you'll want to avoid getting too far out on a falling tide. Fort Pierce Inlet typically receives swells from the north and northeast. Although the surf here is great, the north wind and current can create dangerous conditions.

Another place to catch fish is along the shores of Jensen Beach. The beaches are teeming with snook, grouper, snapper, and pompano. The pilings on the bridge are like artificial reefs, covered in barnacles, and provide excellent hiding spots for small fish. Predators also come to the pilings for food. Some of the most sought-after fish are flounder, snook, and spotted sea trout.
